Lavallee Brensinger Architects hosted Cityscapes’ Jan Goodman yesterday for an AIA presentation on living walls. The presentations are good for a Continuing Education Unit required for architects, designers, and engineers. Whether or not you are attending for a CEU, the presentation is great for all who are curious about the design, installation, maintenance, applications, and benefits of vertical gardens.

Halvorson Design in collaboration with HDR Inc. is working on redeveloping the massive open plaza in front of City Hall including the Government Center train station. The vast open expanse of brick hardscape will be transformed with tree bosques and water-permeable pavers to reduce storm water runoff. Gradual slopes will replace stairs to make it a more bicycle friendly transit hub. Check out the greener future of City Hall Plaza at Halvorson Design’s website.
