Pumpkins as Seasonal Succulent Planters

Check out this this fun, creative idea in the LA Times about incorporating pumpkins into your plants for the Fall season! http://www.latimes.com/home/la-lh-pumpkin-succulents-planter-photos-20131023,0,46168.photogallery#axzz2jmwO39wp

Laura Eubanks from Design for Serenity said she conceived the pumpkin planter idea three years ago after wanting to do something different with Trader Joe’s pumpkins. Her process involves gluing sphagnum moss and succulents to the pumpkin rather than cutting it open, to prolong the life of the pumpkin. The succulents, she says, don’t mind the glue — even if you’re using a hot glue gun to set the design quickly.  Visit her website at http://designforserenity.com/
